What in the Hell Does Project Forever do?
Good Question
Let's dive into Project Forever's Goals with Some FAQS
Question 1: Alright, save the humans 'woot woot', but who in the hell is profiting off Project Forever? I know every business someone is secretly flourishing.
Answer 1: We are an official 509(C)(3) meaning we are a not for profit entity. We are a group of unpaid and concerned humans. Therefore every t-shirt sold and donation received is spent on our mission. We do not promise a lot, but one thing we do is the purity of our focus on nothing other than our purpose of contributing to preserving and saving humanity.
Question 2: Uhh okay FIRST OFF saving humanity? What is this . . . some QANON conspiracy theory about the end of the world? The world isn't ending . . . What is going on here??
Answer 2: According a group of researchers at the Future of Humanity Institute who study the risk of human extinction, humans face around a 20% chance of extinction... within the next 100 years (https://www.fhi.ox.ac.uk/reports/2008-1.pdf). Also, Stephen Hawking warned of extinction within 100 years unless we colonize another planet (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/15/stephen-hawking-predictions-human-extinction-to-global-warming.html). So this threat is by no means a farce. Due to novel and accelerating technology, it is uncertain how and if humans can coexist with technology for long periods of time.
Question 3: Oh wow. That's scary . . . What Is Project Forever doing to help humans avoid extinction?
Answer 3: We work as a campaign, similar to a political one but without the . . . you know . . . politics! Therefore we accept donations (check out below), run ads, buy billboards, sell t-shirts, have events, make videos and so on . . . just like your corrupt congressman! But instead of doing all this to boast ourselves, we are doing it to spread a message. The message that the human species is at risk and we should care vehemently about saving and preserving humanity. Our goal is to transform as many people as possible to live their lives cognizant of the fragility of our species and passionate about assisting in continuing humanity.
Question 4: Um. Ok . . . Last time I checked . . . I'M GOING TO DIE. Why should I care about saving humanity?
Answer 4: Well if the idea that your kids and grandkids and all the potential future humans may be stripped of their chance to live isn't strong enough for you . . . we can look at this idiosyncratically. The fact that you are going to die means that in the blink of an eye everything about you will be gone. Therefore, one can come to the conclusion that the best way to live is to contribute to something that will outlive our individual selves. The most powerful way to do that is to contribute to preventing existential threats as the future of everything is dependent on the continuation of humanity. Thus, considerable meaning can be found in providing for the future of humanity. Please
